SÃO PEDRO DA ALDEIA, A PEACEFUL PLACE BLESSED BY NATURE

Despite having a good structure and an admistrative organization acknowledged for efficiency of all services in all areas, mainly in the Education and Health sectors, São Pedro remains with that humble and cosy way of life peculiar to villages where the sun shines all year round, the scenery becomes even more beautyful, and the windmills are outstanding, square trays of the salt industry, downsouth Lagoa de Araruama, with its twenty-two beaches. 

Among these beaches are outstanding São pedro, Tereza, Balneário, Praia Linda, Porto, Pitória, Vala, Sudoeste, Cordeiros, Baleia, Mossoró, and Ponta da Areia. 

There is also the beachof Iguaba Grande, very dose to the city that today belongs, however, to a newly emancipated municipalily, but that the vilíager still still considers a little bit his.

A good tip is mullet’s roe, considered to be aphrodisiac. To prepare it takes about one week, but the result is great. 

The mullet (without the roe) is prepared on the spot, also in a diferent and special way: alter being marinated with salt and garlic, fhe fish goes to the grili, but on top of a colonial tile, and with oil over it. 

The mullet, alter being cooked, is served with rice and tomato sauce, on onions, ouve oil, vinegar and Iemon.

One of the abandoned guns, a XVI century one, was found in 1935 in a site of Praia do Sudoeste and today one can find it in exhibition at Praça Dr. Plinio de Assis Tavares, at the city center.
